Emma-Jane began playing piano aged six, and her love of music was born then. Her musical influences growing up included an eclectic mix - from Johnny Cash to Queen, and everything between. But when you think of fellow singer-songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Carol King, Sheryl Crow, Carly Simon and Tori Amos you start to get the picture. Emma-Jane began songwriting in her teens her Edinburgh band garnered impressive reviews such as "Polished, quick to impress" and "A singer-songwriter with presence as well as potential" - and that was for just the first gig! After expanding her fan base around Edinburgh, Emma-Jane returned to London, where she has been a regular at respected venues such as The Bedford, The Cobden Club and Ginglik along with numerous piano bars. Emma-Jane now performs most nights either solo or with her band, and her performances have toured Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Emma-Jane Thommen's self titled debut album is available on iTunes, and visit her on Myspace to get the latest on her next album release. Finally, Emma-Jane also loves smaller gigs and more intimate audiences. She has performed for the authors of this biography at their wedding last year, and frequently performs in clubs and piano bars in London when not travelling. Emma-Jane plays her own stunning music, but equally does some fantastic covers, and she really does make them "her own"! Read more on Last.fm.
