They play many songs by classic rocks bands along with some originals. In 1985 the band broke up. The current line-up consists of Scott 'Sticks' Middlin (Vocals), Simon Hollands (Guitar), Todd Monaghan (Guitar), Dave Howard (Bass) and James "Suebee" Burford (Drums) The general consensus of how the 5 of them combined to form a 'cohesive and audible band... is that Scott met Hollands at a house party, bonded over a mutual love of Underoath and Billy Talent. Scott, using all his powers of persuasion roped Subee into drumming as well as some other friends and Emerald City was born.' . The band underwent many line-up changes, before finally settling on the current one. The band is influenced by Underoath, Architects, Alexisonfire, Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria & The Used. The best description of the band's sound was by drunken man after a show, who told them: 'You guys sound like the Used with breakdowns'. They are set to release their first full length album in 2012.
