Dudu Tassa is an Israeli singer-songwriter, musician, composer and record-producer. He works in many genres, but is most known for his rock music. Dudu Tassa is now considered to be one of the leading figures of Mizrahi rock ('oriental rock' -- rock with traditional Middle Eastern influences) in Israel. He is also the grandson of the famous musician and composer Daoud Al-Kuwaiti, an Arab Jew who found great success in the Arab world, working alongside his brother to form a musical duo. One of Dudu Tassa's most famous projects is Dudu Tassa & the Kuwaitis, in which he covers old Iraqi songs (many written by his grandfather) and infuses them with rock elements, giving them a new feel with a unique fusion. He has released 9 albums thus far (2014). Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
