Dry Rise are a contemporary melodic rock band based in Brighton in south east England. Singer guitarist Gazz Marlow is also lead guitarist in well known UK rock outfit InMe. The bands main influences are cited as Kerbdog, Silverchair, Metallica, Nirvana, InMe and Biffy Clyro. The band is made up of Gazz Marlow (vocals/guitars), Chris Slade (guitars, backing vocals), Paul Smith (bass) and Tom Dalton (drums). Back in 2004, the band came 3rd in "Demolition", a televised competition on Sky TV channel SCUZZ, winning them a video produced and financed by BSkyB and featured on the channel, plus inclusion on a Rock Sound music magazine cover CD (Music With Attitude, Vol. 60). The video reached No.12 on the Scuzz weekly requests chart. Other notable events in the bands history include one of the bands earlier songs being on the promotional DVD for the World Indoor Skydiving Championships, and the band were also featured as characters in (and on the soundtrack of) the new Robert Rankin novel "The Da da di da da Code". More recently Dry Rise cover of Kerbdog song "Dragging Through" was included on the official Kerbdog tribute album, alongside acts such as Frank Turner. The bands most recent music video, a parody of the Terminator theme, has so far done well over 30,000 views on youtube. An entirely free album is available on www.tinyurl.com/dryrisealbum and there is a download only single on iTunes called Unwishful Thinking.
