DeeExpus is the solo project of Andy Ditchfield, a song writer and musician based in County Durham, England and has been around in one form or another for a number of years. The current lineup of the band band is Andy Ditchfield (guitar, keyboards and vocals), Tony Wright (vocals), John Dawson (bass guitar), Mark Kelly (keyboards) and Henry Rogers (drums). The band have just released their second album (King of Number 33) through Racket Records. The title track is an epic tale based on the true story of a local folklore figure from Tony’s formative years. The final track on the new album (Memo) features guest vocals from Nik Kershaw. The band released their debut album (Half Way Home) in May 2008, to worldwide critical acclaim . The album is essentially progressive guitar-rock liberally sprinkled with finely crafted pop undertones. Their sound is not dissimilar to that of Porcupine Tree, and indeed one of the tracks on the album (PTtee) is a tribute to the band - written after Andy saw a Porcupine Tree gig which blew him away.
