Datcyde- Brief Biography 1997 Datcyde first stepped into the NYC jungle scene in 1995 after teaming up with DJ's Adam G and Mark Moss to create a buzz in the jungle-deprived city of Detroit. Since then his presence has been a staple in New York City's underground dance music culture. His reputation for long, tight mixing and playing original/unreleased music has enabled him to play across the nation. Datcyde was asked to be a resident at NYC's Konkrete Jungle in 1996 and has been a regular at several other NYC weekly events such as Direct Drive, Camoflage, Recess and Testpress. Datcyde was heard from time to time rinsing it on the longest running drum and bass radio show, The Urban Jungle Show on WKCR FM. Datcyde can also be heard occasionally on www.nycjungle.com on the DK mix show with Vandal and Odi. 2000 Datcyde has teamed up with Odi on various projects dating back to 1995. One of which was the NYC based G-Force tour. The G-Force tour found success in the south , making cities like Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham and New Orleans regular stops. Datcyde's production skills have been picked up by several domestic labels including New York's own Caffeine Records. Known primarily as a techno and trance label, they picked him up as their first jungle producer and included him on the infamous Caffeine tour in 2000 along side DJ's Micro, X-dream, Frankie Bones. Some of his well-known tunes that have been in demand by junglists across the country and are now only be available only on Ebay. Some fetching as much as $120.00. Released on a split EP, his anthem jungle tune, Sober, was remixed for the millennium. Sober 2000 shares vinyl with a fellow G-Forcer's tune, the Syphon Remix by Jo-S. . ,Datcyde receives international requests for his tracks almost weekly. As his global fame grows so does this stateside producer's creative drive and career options. Datcyde's original version of Sober was released on the annually distributed CD with Urb magazine. Datcyde has also collaborated with Reid Speed on the ever-infamous NYC classic NaughtyRide featuring MC Blaise (junglesky). This record sold out faster than any of Datcyde's other work. At the time of it's release, only one other record was moving more copies out of NYC's BreakbeatScience. Naughty Ride can now be heard several times per season as the go to commercial music on the Jaime Kennedy Experiment on the WB. 2002 A quintessential part of Datcyde's unique DJ sets are his abundance of exclusive, self-produced tracks. He has released songs on various record labels such as, Jungle Sky, Ultra Records, Brooklyn Music Ltd., Caffeine, Taciturn Records, Sony Music, Epic, Reptile Records and Phase One Communications. His first full-length album is currently available in stores as he produces new tracks for his next. Postive Climb-The Mixed CD is a collections of his self-produced music tightly mixed back to back. His first album ranked number eleven on Mixer magazine's staff album picks compiled by Stephanie Greenberg. The CD also received great reviews from a multitude of different media outlets including URB, a full page article in Rinse and FADER magazines. Datcyde's music has enabled him to travel all over the US as well as Europe and South America. Most recently Ecosystem 3 in Manaus, Brazil, along with DJ Garon, Soulslinger, Vitor Lima and several others. This winter Datcyde and Garon performed at Forms in Holland and are headed back for more. Due to the global support and appreciation Datcyde has received, he can be heard from coast to coast and on various continents. 2004 Currently, Datcyde is working on a second full-length album for Taciturn Records. This project, slated for summer 2005, will combine original material with video and 5.1 surround technology giving the listener and experience unmatched by any other commercial release to date. In the last couple years marked my UK one hit wonders and cracked copies of Reason software, Datcyde continues to set the bar higher and to push drum n bass to new audiences.
