Born Jim "Jimbo" Scheffer, Jealous J was one of the original DJs/producers of the legendary West Palm Beach based Miami Bass label Cut It Up Def records. As the label recruited DJ Jock D, they became a double threat in the new world of Bass-turntablism come 1989. By 1990, Jim left to join Dave Williams roster at Heatwave Records before signing on as a creative force for Dynamixx II records in the mid-90s. After various projects in the late 90s, Jim became a staff member at Slip-N-Slide Records, changing his name to Jim Jonsin, and is now one of world's biggest producers for the world to new school Rap, R&B, and Top 40 pop.
