Cute Machines

Cute Machines began at college in New Orleans, Louisiana in August 2010 when twin brothers Sam McCabe and Collin McCabe teamed up with roommate Pat Testa and drummer Madelaine Crabtree. The group began writing immediately, experimenting with live drums before transitioning to a drum machine when Madelaine departed from the band in December 2010. Within months, the group was making strong connections and playing shows in the New Orleans area. The band's sound can be described as a blend of post-punk and alternative dance music, equally drawing from the familiar cheesiness of disco & New Wave and the alternative rock of Beck and Cake, the aggressiveness of blues-punk and stoner rock, and the melodious danceability of rave music and indietronica. The band debuted with their demo EP Drink Up! on October 29, 2010. On November 30, 2010 the band released a followup acoustic EP Folk Machines. The band released three singles in 2011 (Metaphorical Fist on March 26th, Synthesis on June 3rd, and Kirby Got Robbed on September 9th) leading up to their first full length 8 track EP, Escalators, which came out on September 30th, 2011. The band split in early November, 2011 with their final performance on November 19th. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cutemachines Read more on Last.fm.
