Crazy Anglos

Armed with an arsenal of infectious hooks and aggressive melodies, an infinite supply of pulsating energy, and an undying commitment to rocking the f**king roof off, the Atlanta-based, five-man-faction better known as the Crazy Anglos, has become a driving force behind Atlantas local music scene, and the very definition of mild insanity. Since the bands inception in 2002, the Anglos have become collectively known for their signature sound that effortlessly blends a number of diverse musical elements. Citing an eclectic mix of influences ranging from Cypress Hill and Outkast, to Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fugazi, Mos Def and James Brown, to Beethoven, Miles Davis, and Bob Marley the Anglos infuse the raw edges of rock and the rhythmic timing of rap with the heavy backbeats synonymous with funk and reggae. Fronted by vocalist John O' Leary and MC Bryan Bozeman, the Anglos maintain a delicate balance between melodic vocals and sharp rhymes. Brandon Parker provides assaulting riffs on guitar, while Danny Helm's undeniably intricate bass lines round out the bands bottom end. Drummer Kevin Compton, who Atlanta-area reviewers have revered as "supplying the deadliest beats in the South, puts the punctuation on the Anglos complex arrangements. The result of all this raw talent and genre-blending is a refreshingly unexpected sound that blurs the lines between musical styles. And there is no better way to experience that sound then at a live show. Performing as if they are under the impression that amplifiers will be outlawed within the next few hours, the Crazy Anglos never hesitate to unleash two fistfuls of intensity every time they play. This pure, unbridled energy is flat-out contagious, and has a tendency to instigate fits of (welcomed) borderline-chaotic behavior from the crowd. In essence, making an attempt to remain seated when the Crazy Anglos hit the stage is like to trying to turn down a Jager bomb, its pretty much impossible. The Crazy Anglos distinctive sound, unparalleled stage show, and healthy flair for defiance has won them an exceptionally loyal following, earned them undisputed respect, and cemented their name in the Atlanta music scene.
