Critically acclaimed contemporary rock and Christian artist, Chris Lizotte, recently teamed up with Varietal Records for his latest release, "Signal Hill Revival", which is currently available through major digital retail outlets and VineyardMusic.com. The two-disc set includes a bonus DVD documentary that features candid interviews and exclusive behind the scenes studio footage. The album is produced by friend and legendary guitarist, Marc Ford, and features a renowned line-up of artists that represent diverse musical styles. Gospel, blues, and rock tones merge together in "Signal Hill Revival" to create an unforgettable sound that is sure to delight fans of various musical genres. Recorded live in a studio in Long Beach, California, this album fulfills a long time dream for Lizotte. "I'm happy to just lead worship at my church, but to have the opportunity to do this with my best friends has been such a blessing. Some of the people on this album I've played music with for over 20 years. It just feels like a bunch of friends worshipping together," he says. "Signal Hill Revival" is a reflection of the heart, passion and authenticity of a group of people who desire to use their gifts and talents to glorify God. Ford, who wrote 'Deep Water' on the album says, "I've been through some trenches, so hopefully someone else in a trench can relate and find hope in this song." Ford, who has played with prominent rock and roll artists, including Ben Harper and The Black Crowes, teamed up to produce and play guitar with Lizotte on this special project. "I wanted to be able to serve Chris on this album. He has been such a great friend to me." Somewhat unpredictable with the musical direction he takes on his albums, Lizotte's lyrical direction always seems to remain consistent. He has a goal to touch, encourage, and relate to the hearts of the churched and the un-churched. 'Glory to the King' for example, segues into an inspiring version of Bob Dylan's classic 1967 song, 'I Shall Be Released.' Lizotte has never shied away from difficult subjects, and has always incorporated worship in his lyrics. In 'Brighter Day', he enlists veteran Christian recording artist, Crystal Lewis, for a powerful duet. Songs such as 'I Will Trust You', 'O' Death Where Is Your Sting', and 'Great is the Lord's Love' are served to bring encouragement to the hurting. In the 45-minute documentary, Lizotte enters The Compound Studio with a rag-tag collection of musicians for a rare look into the faces and stories that inspired "Signal Hill Revival." The film chronicles four days of the journey of this project and showcases the connection between the personal and creative elements of the production process.
