CFM Band and Swing Machine, projects featured heavily on the "This is Acid Jazz" series on Instinct Records, are simply nom de plumes for producer Reynald Deschamps, relying heavily on a roster of talented guest musicians, including Richie Weeks, and many member of Jazzhole: Warren Rosenstein, Kevin Disimone, Rosa Russ, and John Pondel. Reynald Deschamps, or Reynald "CFM" Deschamps, nicknamed the "Crazy Frenchman", is an artist, producer and independent label head. Based in New York in the 1980s and 1990s, Reynald formed his own distribution company MTI (comprising Kool Groove Records, REY-D Records and later USA (United Sounds of America). Distribution deal with Apexton Records which included the label called Underworld Records. Reynald collaborated with numerous downtown personalities and released dozens of catchy, memorable 12" dance singles under a variety of confusing throw-away band and label names. Soho was a short-lived New York collaboration between Pal Joey and Reynald "CFM" Deschamps. Soho recorded a few well-known dance-tracks—most notably—1989's Hot Music on Reynald's Kool Groove Records. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Soho Read more on Last.fm.
