There are three bands named Burning Flames, a soca-band from Antigua, a straight edge-band from Sweden and a tiny rockband from Norway. The soca-band Burning Flames is the best-known Antiguan music group. They were formed in 1985 by brothers Clarence “Oungku” Edwards (Keyboard & Vocals), Toriano “Onyan” Edwards (Guitar & Vocals), David “Bubb’I” Edwards (Bass) and Laban “Mente” Edwards (Drums), later replaced by Rone “Foxx” Watkins. They composed their style of elements of Antigua’s own “Benna” music, Trinidad’s Soca, Zouk, Merengue as well as other styles. Their first hit-single, “Stylee Tight” won the annual “Roadmarch” title in Antigua, which they have since won another 14 times. After Onyan quit the group in 1996, Onika Bostic became the new vocalist next to Bandleader Oungku. After Onika’s death following a car accident in late 2004, Oungku himself left the band in autumn of 2005 to form the Red Hot Flames, while Onyan rejoined the Burning Flames as lead singer. Gislaved's The Burning Flames featured Janne Hanhela (End in Sight, 8 days of nothing, Phoenix Undead), Kai Karjalainen (The Change), Toni Niskanen (End in Sight, Phoenix Undead), Oskar Ekman (Nine) and Marko Partanen (Rentokiller, Set My Path). Former member: Daniel Fagerström (Trapdoor Fucking Exit, 8 days of nothing). Read more on Last.fm.
