Broke Gringos

Bottrop will make you depressive in the long run. Everything looks as grey as smoke. In the year 1999, three gringos set off to Cologne - three people, one room. Composing a beat, raising some money for weed and food, hiding from the landlord - this is how their days go by. Still, it seems impossible to record some tunes in acceptable quality - the gear is just too crappy. During their dirty day job, they bump into Larsaction and some early tracks get recorded round his place. LAH has got some homies with him: Slomo with some beats, Sel and Amor with some raps - the Broke Gringo crew keeps growing. The first official release is DER SHIT on vinyl followed by Gringo Starr's "Underwater Babies" tape and the JUNK EP on iD.EOLOGY with various gringos. Lazy Jones and Paradise return to Bottrop to complete their solo-projects. More collabos with Doc Dondo and Fleur Earth follow. During the late summer of 2003 a number of Broke Gringos found the BROKE LOVERS SEXTET. A couple of gigs follow, including support by Larsaction and Lunte. Tracks keep stacking up ... time for new releases. So, hold on tight ... and stay on the look out! Read more on Last.fm.
