Brenga Astur was founded in 1994 by Asturian musicians. Their aim has always been to give people a knowledge about the Asturian Celtic folk music in different ways: from a more traditional perspective, to a folk and even folk-rock point of view.The group always shows its Celtic spirit by offering music from the eight official Atlantic Celtic Arch Countries: Ireland, Scotland, The Isle of Man, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany, Asturies and Galicia. Obviously, most of the music they play is the Celtic folk music from their own country: Asturies. The instruments they play are the most popular and used in all these Celtic countries, as well as other instruments from all around the world: from traditional multidrone Asturian bagpipes, to Irish flutes, Asturian hand percussions, or the accordion, but also the acoustic guitars, bouzouki, bass guitar, voices and drums.
