Boulevard Lane is an acoustic/electric/eclectic band performing their interpretations of classic tunes and originals. The focus is on great songs, tight harmonies, and connecting with an audience. Angela Andazola is a singer/songwriter and Albuquerque native who has spent years performing with bands in New Mexico and California. Bill Royal is the former lead guitarist for Strange Brew and Blues Royale, and is an award winning radio producer and voice talent. Angela Andazola - Guitar, Vocals Angela Andazola has been singing since she was five. She began singing and composing at that young age. She took up saxaphone in middle school where she learned how to read music. She began singing with differnt country band’s in Albuquerque NM, playing at all of the main venues. She studied voice at a Music Arts Conservatory in before moving to California. She taught herself to play guitar and started a band in Palm Springs by the name of Borderline . She began to play professionally in California where she resided and played around the Palm Springs area playing with the band Borderline for over a decade playing and recording her original tunes. She also worked as a studio vocalist there. She also loves rock n roll, blues, folk and jazz. Some of her influences include, Billy Holiday, Pat Benatar, Robert Johnson, Heart, Emmy Lou Harris and as well as Leonard Cohen and Benny Goodman. She moved back to Albuquerque in 1992 where she played with a couple of bands and concentrated more on writing than performing. She currently plays guitar and sings with guitarist Bill Royal who is also her collaborator writing songs for the band called Boulevard Lane. Bill Royal – Guitars, Vocals, Mandolin Bill Royal has been playing, writing, and recording music since the age of 14. Starting with his original inspirations in Classic Rock--Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Rush, Queen, Yes, and too many more to mention--he played in many Southern California bands including Works and Reckless Momentum. He’s also worked with studio musicians including Zappa alumnus Chad Wackerman among others. Over the years, he’s broadened his musical abilities to include Blues, Jazz, Fusion, Folk, Country, and whatever presents a new challenge. His professional radio career brought him to New Mexico in 1997, where he’s won 7 New Mexico Broadcasters Awards for his work in radio production, voice-overs, and copywriting. In addition, he’s done many TV appearances, co-hosting PBS Pledge Drives for KNME TV 5 since 1998. He also formed or played with bands including Atomic Blonde and Blues Royale, who played Journal Pavilion’s side stage, opening for ZZ Top. Next, he spent 6 years playing with local Classic Rock favorites Strange Brew on lead guitar and vocals, who enjoyed well received high profile shows at Civic Plaza, and the Rio Grande Zoo’s main stage. Bill continues his voice-over work nationwide, and has written soundtrack music for Siren Audio Studios, as well as appeared in several of their audiobooks. Teamed with Angela Andazola in Boulevard Lane, he is excited to be co-writing, recording, and performing some of the best music of his career. Bruce Aiken - Drums, percussion, vocals Bruce Aiken was born in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the grandson of a coal miner and the son of a local telephone company executive. A trained horn player from a very early age, he was inspired by Ringo, the Beatles and the first "English Invasion", to take up the drum kit. Bruce was a Baby Boomer who rose from his humble beginnings to embrace the life of an itinerant musician, playing drums across the width and breadth of North America in a variety of musical affiliations.This resume of musical heritage provides a pallet on which to mix the rhythms and timbres of a wide range of musical influences and genres. In his constant search for the ultimate venue for artistic expression, Bruce joined Boulevard Lane after relocating to New Mexico.
