He exploded on to the scene in July 2012 when his debut release, “Cocktail Bar”, was featured on the highly successful mau5trap compilation album, “We Are Friends: Volume 1.” It still remains the third most downloaded track from the album and, after much acclaim; he has been invited back to appear on the second volume, due out in March. By the age of 16, Born Freak had begun making an indelible impression on the public, Djing at an array of electronic festivals around Europe. The next 6 years took him on a learning experience like no other, mixing and mastering live shows across the continent. Born Freak has been playing music at one of biggest festival such as Sziget, Ozora, No Mans Land, Boom, Shiva Moon, Balaton Sound and Earth Dance festivals, amongst others around the world. Known for his monster festival mash-ups, he has destroyed arenas across the globe with his genre-blending style, using his spectacular skill set and mixing technics to weave an electronic tapestry for his audiences to enjoy. His laid back persona belies an incredible work ethic and 2013 is already shaping up to be a busy year. Aside from the mau5trap project, Born Freak founded his own record label, Freak Trix, in 2013, August sees the launch of his first original Compilation, “You Never Know”, Following Born Freaks incredible solo success with Mau5trap, the Freak Trix Records supremo is back again with a stunning compilation titled You Never Know to introduce his label to the world. You Never Know showcases the myriad of talent at his disposal in a sumptuous collection of dance music, encompassing all things electro, progressive and house. The album offers nine beautifully mastered tracks from eight budding artists, ranging from those who have already established themselves with mau5trap, Dirty Dutch Music and Nervous Records, all the way through to those making their debuts! Freak Trix prides itself on unearthing those with a natural capacity in forward-thinking productions, and this latest offering is a perfect illustration of that ethos, with many of the tracks coming from demos that were too good to pass up. With such variation that covers all angles of a sound pioneered by mau5trap, Freak Trix has compiled an evolutionary album which snakes its way through a labyrinth of progressive, electro and deep house beats, firmly announcing the artists and the label to the dance music community. Also September sees Born Freak's first Single release which guarantees an uplifting, ecstatic blend of heavy bass lines with original synth melodies, all engineered to the utmost quality of crystal-clear sound in his own studio. His latest single, “Take My Hand”, sees the ethereal voice of Jaki Nelson to produce a sumptuous vocal house track that oozes summer chill out vibes. The pre-release shot to immediate prominence with an appearance on BBC and is due for mainstream availability from September on Freak Trix Records, with a mau5trap release date soon to be announced on ‘We are Friends Vol.2’. Whilst usually known for a hard-hitting progressive techno/house vibe, this latest musical treat showcases his unparalleled diversity, bringing a calm yet euphoric ambience to the table without compromising on the punchy synths that keep his followers coming back for more.
