There used to be a band named Wookie Spooky... Or Spooky Wookie... It depended on the gig and a hyphen was involved somehow... Yes, in retrospect, it was a horrible band name... But it was basically a band that Jazz (Itchyworms) and Justin (Ciudad) formed during AMP (Ateneo Musician's Pool) hanging out time, where Justin was supposed to be the LEAD singer. It was also the band where Marie (Blast Ople) was going to play the bass, whereas Jazz would be on drums while Echo (Tripnosis) was on rhythm guitars... They used to play 60s songs by The Zombies as well as "The BBC" off the Austin Powers soundtrack... Then, Jazz & Marie's other band at the time, Dexter Calliope and the Tito Gil Twins broke up, and Jazz and Marie decided to switch band positions and re-name the band (on the way to Tutuban for Christmas shopping that year)... They even moved some songs to the other band, such as "Betamax" and "I Love You." The new band name became a problem. From Appledore to Dinuguan Babies, they were in a rut. Suddenly, during a dinner in the old Derby house where the former Wookie Spooky members were having a Mexican-themed meal, Scott Garceau, the writer and brother-in-law, mentioned that "BOLDSTAR" was a really unique and Filipino word that didn't exist in the English language and would be a good name for a band...
