Also known as Tony Blunt. 2) Blunt is a danish heavy reggae group, is a 5 piece band, formed in the summer of 2000. The project started early 2000, when Jake, Jimmie and a couple of friends recorded some reggae songs for fun. It turned out that these former hardcore guys actually were pretty good, so they decided to make a band and come up with some more material. During the summer they got hold of former Candyflip 666 drummer Günter Back, guiratist Jesper Friis from Flipside and AAO guitar player Mululu. In spring 2001 they recorded a promo, which gave them jobs and good PR. In early 2003 they recorded their first full lenght album, “Reggae da Nation” During 2004, they entered the “Emergenza festival”-contest, and made it to the finals. They also entered the “Livecontest.dk” where they made it to the semis. In June 2004 they appeared on the compilation cd “stem svin”. Later that month their favorite negro HP Mululu left the band, and was replaced by hard-rocker Mads Schaarup. Blunt, originally created by its lead singer and composer Luis Felipe Caicedo in Göttingen, Germany on 2002, had its debut EP, I’m not Californian, from which its first release Find my way reached the number 1 position on the top 20 chart on august 2005 at the most important rock station, 100.5 FM, of the Colombian second biggest city, Cali, the place where the band acquired its definite 4-man ensemble with the arrival of David Z. on drums, Diego Prado on lead guitar and Juan Giraldo on rhythmic guitar. The video clip of their first Single release is what brought Blunt to national fame in 2006. Their style, by them defined as the Alternative beach Sound is a mix of alternative rock, melodic punk, reggae and jazz. The lyrics are oriented to cause social consciousness through a very poetic and deep way. They have already donated their talent to the purpose of helping homeless people in Colombia and Latin America, by being part of the concerts campaign A roof for my country.
