Bauchklang is a five-piece "vocal groove collective" from Austria. With an unique mixture of beat boxing and vocal acrobatics they cover a musical landscape stretching from Electro over Drum'n'Bass to Dub & Hip Hop- only using their voices on the way. And while their name Bauchklang (literally "belly sound") might be tough to pronounce, their crisp cross-over tunes translate easily to audiences all over the world. Already regulars at the European festival circus, Bauchklang first ventured into Asia last year with the release of their first live album/DVD "Live In Mumbai", and a five city tour through India. This year, their itinerary will include Shanghai, where Bauchklang are Austria's musical ambassadors at Expo 2010. Along they bring their brand-new studio album "Signs", the first in four years, and only the third in almost 15 years. The experience shows: with almost inhuman precision and depth they showcase the possibilities of the human voice, still keeping an impromptu a-capella quality that leaves live audiences speechless. Guest artists contributed to the density and international flair of this album: spoken word icon Ursula Rucker from Chicago, poetry "slameur" MC Rouda and beat boxer TEZ from Paris. And the lyrics ripened headily - a harbinger of things to come: Are you ready to see the signs? Read more on Last.fm.
