Björn Åkesson was born in 1986, in a town called Lund (southern Sweden). He first noticed electronic music in the middle of the 90es when he heard music from a videogame called Wipeout 2097. With artists such as Future Sound of London, The Prodigy and Orbital the interest grew. A few years later a friend from school introduced Björn to trance/club music. This sounded a lot better and much more interesting than the techno he heard before. The first step into the scene was with the creation of the track Flashmode under the alias Level B, which was played on NRJ Extravadance (the largest radio show for club music in Sweden). At this point, Björn had been in contact with Andreas Lindell aka Dréas, who he sent a clip to early in 2003. The clip contained a guitar melody that drew Andreas' attention and he suggested that the two do a collaboration together to make the clip into a complete track, which they did. The track was called Dréas pres. Havannah - Havannah. Havannah was played by some of the world's top DJs - Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Johan Gielen, and The Thrillseekers, just to name a few! Björn has recently had success as a solo producer. His latest track Polarstate - Global Midnight is one of the tracks that is definitely causing a stir among the music world with many DJ's showing support. This is surely the beginning of a very successful music career for the talented young man. Read more on Last.fm.
