Aaron Ximm's project 'Quiet American' is an ongoing sound project which began in 1998, based on composing soundscapes from field recordings, primarily without use of other instrumentation or source material. Ximm seeks recordings that demonstrate accident or incident rather than performance; that capture the unintentionally beautiful; that awaken the ear, for being unusual or evocative.
