3 Inch Giants, based out of Jonesboro, Arkansas, US was the two man experimental pop project of Timothy Bowen (Bad Spelling and Grammar, Baba Ku, Parson's Brown Project) and Joshua Travis (Parson's Brown Project, Sal Si Puedes). Active between 2005 and 2007, the short lived project took their primary inspiration from the duo's of Ween and They Might Be Giants. They produced one EP called Gimme Five, and two full albums; 2006's America's Challenge and the more developed Sheep's Clothing which was released in 2007. Sheep's Clothing featured Indiana's Justin Clifford Rhody and the D.C. based duo Lava Lava on the track Me 4 Me. Gimme Five and America's Challenge were both offered up for free download though Bowen's online imprint OUR records. Sheep's Clothing was distributed via Cafe' Press. The band played various live shows, all in the Jonesboro area, playing along with a pre-recorded cassette backing track in the spirit of early They Might be Giants. The group disbanded in late 2007 due to Travis' personal issues. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
