Rapper, singer, and producer D.R.A.M. dropped his #1 Epic Summer mixtape in 2014, but he was off by a year, as it was the Beyoncé-assisted summer of 2015 that turned out to be epic. The Virginia-based artist released the #1 Epic Summer mixtape in 2014 with the track "Cha Cha" included, but the club-worthy cut was a regional hit with no national buzz. That changed in 2015 when Cleveland R&B radio station Z 107.9 FM began playing the cut as their "weekend warmer," a campaign that eventually reached Beyoncé, who shared a video of her own version of the track. With the Queen B's cosign, "Cha Cha" was re-released that year while #1 Epic Summer reappeared as an EP, then the aptly titled debut album Gahdamn! landed toward the end of his busy 2015.
